My best Teacher

Shiela Lonie, Gram, started teaching me to draw around 8 years old, between jet setting with her second husband. She took me to museums all over the west coast by 16. And had me painting landscapes, still life and abstract fairly well by 19. 

She still, at 96, encourages my wild ideas and is absolutely thrilled that my stories and circles have taken off. Without her knowledge of color science, there is no way I would have lasted in advertising for nearly twenty years OR started painting full time. She is my absolute favorite.
